Beauty subscription service Birchbox, which was acquired by FemTec Health for $45 million last year, is rumored to be considering bankruptcy. FemTec Health sent a letter to creditors earlier this month advising them of bankruptcy proceedings and suggested they consider opting into shares of FemTec.

In other news, L’Oreal Groupe launched a luxury beauty brand named Shihyo through third-party joint venture Loshian, in partnership with South Korean hotels and duty-free shops operator Hotel Shilla and Anchor Equity Partners. This is the first time L’Oréal is launching a beauty brand through a joint venture.
